Cinco de Mayo in Santa Fe Springs!

Cinco de Mayo marks the Mexican army’s victory over the French army at the Battle of Puebla. Today we celebrate Cinco de Mayo to honor the rich cultural traditions of Mexico through song, dance and partying.

This year, you’ll have plenty of options for where to celebrate, but here are a few local events that will have you celebrating not just on May 5th but throughout the entire weekend!

1. Friday, May 4, at El Herradero Mexican Restaurant in Bellflower: You’re invited to attend a night filled with laughter, delicious food, drinks, dancing and entertainment! Start the evening by enjoying live mariachi music and a delicious dinner where you will dine, drink and sing. Once the mariachi is over, the DJ will play your favorite music. Caution: You may start feeling a little tingle coming from the bottom of your feet, forcing you to spring out of your seat and take the hand of your partner for a dance or two!

2. Saturday, May 5, at Maggie’s Pub in Santa Fe Springs: Doors open for this celebration at 4:00pm. There’s a $15 cover charge – but you’ll get to watch the Mayweather/Cotto fight and enjoy mariachis, drinks, food and a live DJ after the fight.

3. Saturday, May 5, at Viva la Tradicion Rodeo in Pico Rivera: Enjoy the sounds of Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano with special guests Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco, Mariachi Femenil Las Colibri, Pasión Folklore Mexicana, Youth Mariachi Plaza de La Raza and Los Niños de La Federación del Charro USA.
